Elisha Lawry is an insightful and compassionate psychologist and psychotherapist.
She has 25 years clinical experience and specialist professional training in evidence based psychological and therapeutic interventions. She uses hypnosis to reduce anxiety, improve relaxation and sleep patterns, reduce pain and smoking cessation as well as clinical research supported hypnotherapy techniques found to be beneficial to people with gut issues such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She also has a focus on treating trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with interventions found to reduce trauma symptoms.
Elisha has completed specialist professional training in the following areas: Couples, Relationship and Marriage Counselling (Relationships Australia), Family Therapies Counselling (Satir Centre, Australia), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as of the energetic therapies of Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Clinical Hypnosis.
Elisha is an Endorsed Organisational Psychologist, a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and a Fellow of the College of Organisational Psychologists (MCOP) and a Member of the Australian Society of Hypnosis (ASH). Elisha is a Registered Psychologist Supervisor.
As well as individual counselling she has lectured in Ethical and Professional Practice in the Masters of Counselling at La Trobe University, and senior lecturing positions at the Australian College of Natural Medicine (now Endeavour College of Natural Health) where she was Co-ordinator in the Counselling Health Sciences. She has also held various Organisational Psychologist and Change Management positions in the Public and Private sectors.
